The Telangana Rajyadhikara Party (TRP), led by Teenmaar Mallanna, has called for a statewide bandh today to protest the High Court’s stay on BC (Backward Class) reservations. Mallanna accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of deceiving the BC community by issuing a weak G.O. No. 9, which he claimed failed to protect their constitutional rights. He demanded that the Chief Minister resign immediately, taking moral responsibility for the setback.

Meanwhile, MP R. Krishnayya also criticized the government’s handling of the issue, stating that they would observe the Chief Minister’s reaction to women’s concerns before finalizing their stance on the bandh.

The TRP’s call for protest reflects growing discontent among BC organizations and opposition parties, who argue that the government has failed to uphold social justice and reservation rights promised to backward communities in Telangana.

Krishnayya at Indira Park. He pledged full support for the demand to implement 42% reservations for Backward Classes before local body elections.

Eatala Rajender said this fight is not just a protest but a self-respect movement for more than half of the state’s population. He accused Congress of ruling for over 50 years since 1956 without ever giving the Chief Minister’s post to a BC leader. According to him, Congress always promoted family and regional dominance, pushing BCs to the margins.

The BJP leader highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, himself from a BC community, gave fair representation. He noted that 27 OBC leaders serve as Union Ministers and that even the Vice-President belongs to the BC category. Eatala stressed that only BJP can provide true political empowerment for BCs.

Citing Tamil Nadu’s model, Eatala said the state reviews BC reservations every ten years through a commission. He recalled Modi’s earlier promise in Hyderabad to make a BC leader Chief Minister if BJP wins in Telangana.
