Congress is stepping up its efforts for the upcoming Bihar elections, following Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the state. The party has begun discussions on seat-sharing with alliance partners, though no official announcement has been made yet.

On Thursday, Congress held its first Election Committee meeting in Patna. The meeting is an important step in the party’s strategy for the 2023 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. Leaders are working hard to finalize candidates and plan their next moves.

Rahul Gandhi’s visit, part of a voter rights tour, has brought extra attention to Congress’ campaign. The tour focuses on youth and women, key groups for the party’s outreach efforts.

With the Election Committee meeting now underway, Congress aims to make decisions that will boost its position in the state. The focus is on winning votes by engaging people with strong, clear leadership. The final candidate list will shape the party’s future in the state.

They protested over remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother during his Darbhanga visit. Rahul Gandhi noticed the protest, stepped out of his vehicle, and handed toffees to the BJP workers.

As his convoy entered Ara, BJP workers waved black flags and raised slogans in support of Narendra Modi. Many wore black clothes, and the protest was led by BJP Yuva Morcha’s district leaders. The slogans grew louder as Rahul Gandhi’s roadshow reached the town.

Rahul’s Voter Rights Yatra began from Chhapra on Saturday morning and arrived in Ara by afternoon. BJP workers gathered in large numbers to stage the protest. Despite the confrontation, Rahul Gandhi kept a calm tone and attempted to turn the protest into a lighter moment by distributing toffees.

Alongside Rahul Gandhi, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav were also present during this part of the Yatra. The incident highlighted the political heat in Bihar ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections.
