Barmer News: The water crisis in Rajasthan’s Shiv Assembly constituency intensified on Wednesday after MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati staged a sit-in. He began the dharna inside the PHED project office. Bhati sat in the chamber of the Additional Chief Engineer to press his demands.

The protest followed incomplete pipeline work under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Residents have faced severe water shortages for months. Bhati asked officials when drinking water would reach the area. He received no clear timeline from the department.

Officials reportedly said they would prepare an additional plan and send it to the government. Bhati objected to what he called evasive responses. He said such delays had already caused hardship for the public. Angered by the lack of accountability, he began the sit-in on the spot.

Bhati said he has written multiple letters over the past year. He claimed the department ignored repeated warnings. Pipeline work remains unfinished, and no alternative supply exists. He stressed that villagers depend entirely on government support for drinking water.

The MLA said he would continue the dharna until officials give a written assurance. He demanded a fixed deadline for water supply restoration. The protest has drawn attention to administrative delays and long-standing water scarcity in the Shiv region.

Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma met ministers and BJP MLAs on Sunday and urged them to begin early preparation for the upcoming municipal and panchayat elections. He held the meeting at his residence and said the government has allocated budget for all 200 assembly constituencies in both state budgets. He stressed that public representatives must stay connected with people and focus on real needs.

Sharma told the leaders to engage more with workers and residents. He asked them to stay active in their constituencies and spread awareness about the government’s welfare schemes. He encouraged them to strengthen the organisation by adding new members and giving them meaningful responsibilities.

The Chief Minister highlighted the progress made in the last two years. He claimed that the BJP government has delivered more work in two years than the previous Congress government achieved in five. He said the opposition cannot respond to this direct comparison.

BJP state president Madan Rathore, Deputy CMs Diya Kumari and Dr. Premchand Bairwa, along with several ministers and MLAs, attended the meeting. The leaders approved a 15-day plan to showcase government achievements across Rajasthan.

Speculation about a cabinet reshuffle in Rajasthan intensified after Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat travelled together from Delhi to Jaipur. The political buzz suggested that major changes could be underway in the State. However, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel later clarified that no discussion on cabinet expansion took place in the recent Cabinet meeting.

Breaking his silence, Shekhawat said their joint travel was part of routine governmental coordination. He added that both leaders discussed administrative and political priorities, future focus areas, and how to improve inter-departmental cooperation.

Responding to questions about his calm demeanour despite a busy schedule, Shekhawat said today’s youth need meditation more than medicine. He added that work should be done like meditation—with focus and joy. Citing an RSS prayer line—“Yat Kantakāki Mārgam, Svayam Kṛtam Cha Sugamam Kāryam”—he said even a difficult path becomes easy when chosen with dedication.

While Shekhawat avoided commenting on any possible reshuffle, political circles continue to interpret the coordination between the CM and the Union Minister amid ongoing challenges like farmer issues, water scarcity, and investment growth.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s visit to Dungarpur has once again ignited political chatter in the state. While on her way to Banswara, she stopped at the Dungarpur Circuit House and held a closed-door meeting with BJP leaders and workers, where strong complaints about administrative functioning surfaced.

As the discussion began, Raje asked, “Tell me, what’s going on these days?” Responding to this, former district president Gurupasad Patel said that administrative officers neither listen to the public nor to party workers. His frustration was evident.

Municipal Council Chairman Amrit Kalasua raised another key issue, stating that although Dungarpur consistently wins cleanliness awards, the council does not receive sufficient budget. He added that with adequate funds, new equipment could be purchased and sanitation work could be further improved.

When the media questioned Raje about the current state government’s two-year performance, she avoided a direct response, saying it wasn’t a political program. She then left for Gadhi in Banswara to meet a bereaved family.
