Rajasthan is preparing to write a new chapter in Mewar’s wildlife heritage as Kumbhalgarh is set to become the state’s sixth tiger reserve. The state already houses five major tiger reserves—Ranthambore, Sariska, Mukundra, Ramgarh Vishdhari, and Dhaulpur-Karauli. With the rapid growth in tiger numbers and expanding conservation efforts, the government has moved forward with its plan to establish a new reserve in the historic Kumbhalgarh region.

According to officials, the announcement for the Kumbhalgarh Tiger Reserve is now in its final stages. The inter-state tiger translocation process has already begun successfully, laying the foundation for a new era in Rajasthan’s wildlife management. The upcoming reserve will feature high-class facilities, including camera traps, AI-enabled monitoring, and an advanced surveillance network to track wildlife movement effectively. Authorities believe the Kumbhalgarh Tiger Reserve will significantly boost conservation, tourism, and ecological balance across Mewar.

At the first Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas in Jaipur, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma urged overseas Rajasthanis to strengthen their emotional and cultural connection with their homeland. Addressing over 5,000 representatives from 20 countries at JECC Sitapura, he said Rajasthan offers unmatched heritage, deserts, lakes, palaces, sanctuaries, and Shekhawati havelis—so rich that “a visitor can watch four to five films on one ticket.”

Sharma announced the official implementation of the Pravasi Rajasthani Policy, aimed at giving global Rajasthanis recognition, support, easy investment pathways, and a clear roadmap to participate in the state’s development. He highlighted the formation of the dedicated Department of Pravasi Rajasthani Affairs, fulfilling last year’s promise.

Appealing to the diaspora, the CM said every family should visit Rajasthan at least twice a year to keep future generations connected to their roots. “When heritage stays alive, the future becomes stronger,” he added.
