The Assembly Ethics Committee is scheduled to hear the legislators today at 11 a.m. before chairman Kailash Verma. The MLAs will present their defense during the session. Ritu Banawat previously met Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, demanding a CBI inquiry and submitting a formal letter.

The MLAs facing allegations include Revant Ram Danga (BJP, Khivsar), Anita Jatav (Congress, Hindon), and independent Ritu Banawat (Bayana). The parties have taken immediate action. BJP issued a showcause notice to Danga, asking for a response within three days. Danga claimed the sting was false and that approvals were always granted based on village demands.

Congress also issued a notice to Anita Jatav, seeking clarification within seven days and warning of disciplinary action if she fails to respond. Independent Ritu Banawat may also face action if found guilty.

The sting operation has intensified political scrutiny in Rajasthan. The Ethics Committee meeting is expected to be decisive in determining accountability for alleged fund misuse. The outcome could have significant implications for the involved legislators and their respective parties.
