Vehicles used in crimes, smuggling, and other offences grew sharply after the liquor ban. With no designated storage yard, these vehicles are kept outside police stations in Patliputra, Buddha Colony, Gardanibagh, Digha, Gopalpur, Danapur, and Airport areas. This has slowed traffic and created daily congestion near these stations.

A court order requires police to keep seized vehicles safe until each case ends. Because of this, the piles continue to grow. Earlier, hundreds of seized vehicles were parked outside Gandhi Maidan police station, but they were cleared after a court directive.

SSP Kartikeya Sharma said police have asked the administration for five acres of land to store seized vehicles properly. Officials are now searching for suitable land.
