The Rajya Sabha Elections in Bihar have become competitive because six candidates are contesting for five seats. In 2014, a similar situation occurred when voting was required. At that time, JD(U) candidates Pavan Verma and Ghulam Rasool Balyawi won after defeating independent challengers, while veteran leader Sharad Yadav was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha.

This year, several MPs from Bihar will retire in April. Among them are Harivansh Narayan Singh, Ramnath Thakur, Prem Gupta, Amarendra Dhari Singh, and Upendra Kushwaha. Political parties have already announced their nominees for the upcoming contest.

Based on the current strength in the Bihar Assembly, four seats appear secure for the NDA alliance. However, the fifth seat remains uncertain and may depend on smaller parties and possible cross-voting by MLAs.
