The project will evaluate existing logistics networks, identify gaps, and chart out strategies to improve efficiency while reducing transportation costs. The DPIIT plans to replicate these models nationwide to strengthen supply chain resilience and ensure smoother movement of goods.

Technical support for the programme is being provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under its initiative to strengthen multimodal and integrated logistics systems. At the state level, the focus is on harmonising freight movement across industrial hubs and main transport routes. At the city level, emphasis is on urban freight and last-mile delivery to support retailers and e-commerce.

Key infrastructure upgrades will target urban roads, truck terminals, and congestion management, while digital solutions and process automation will drive smarter decision-making. The plans also integrate sustainability measures such as promoting low- and zero-emission vehicles, creating low-emission zones, and reducing noise pollution.

By fostering collaboration between the Centre, state governments, and private stakeholders, the initiative seeks to align local priorities with national logistics goals, ensuring efficient, future-ready supply chains that support India’s economic growth.

The tourism department will collaborate to introduce Panchkarma facilities at select hotels and destinations. This move aims to attract wellness seekers and position Himachal as a center of Ayurvedic excellence. Goma also launched the Ayush Sankalan Portal to digitally monitor Ayurvedic hospitals, medicine availability, and doctor attendance.

Additionally, the government will classify certain herbs as commercial crops to boost their cultivation and trade. Discussions are underway to legalize cannabis cultivation for medicinal use, reflecting the state’s progressive approach to wellness.
