The Haryana Government and the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee are jointly organising the commemorative samagam at Jyotisar. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reviewed all preparations and asked officials to ensure flawless arrangements for the large crowd expected.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will tour the newly developed Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra and inaugurate Panchjanya on the same campus. He will also participate in the International Gita Mahotsav and join the Maha Aarti.

Chief Minister Saini said Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s martyrdom remains a guiding force for courage and human rights. He added that four Nagar Kirtan Yatras are travelling across Haryana and will converge in Kurukshetra on November 24. The main event will take place the next day in the presence of the Prime Minister.

Saini also recalled Haryana’s earlier celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to honour Sikh heritage.

State leaders, U.S. Congress officials, and community representatives gathered at the Utah State Capitol to pay tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur’s sacrifice for human rights and religious freedom. Utah State Honors Guru Tegh Bahadur Anniversary as Sikh chants filled the Capitol halls, creating a deeply emotional atmosphere.

The event marked the first time Utah formally recognized Guru Tegh Bahadur’s unparalleled contribution to protecting the religious rights of all communities. Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson, State Representative Anthony Loubet, Senior Advisor Mike Mower, and several county leaders attended the program, acknowledging the Guru as a global symbol of courage and humanity.

The official proclamation highlighted Sikh values of equality, service, and honest living. It also recalled Guru Tegh Bahadur’s supreme sacrifice on November 24, 1675, when he chose martyrdom to defend those facing religious persecution. Officials described him as the “Shield of Humanity,” a title that reflects his universal message.

Sikh leaders, including S. Himmat Singh and Dr. Pritpal Singh, thanked Utah for honoring Sikh history and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting human rights. Gurdwara committees and hundreds of Sikh devotees attended the ceremony. A special exhibition on the 1984 Sikh Genocide also drew strong interest from visitors.

The session will begin at 1:00 PM at the Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial. This site carries immense historical importance. Therefore, leaders chose it to create a moment of reflection and gratitude for the Guru’s supreme sacrifice.

In addition, the special session aims to promote unity, courage, and justice—values strongly associated with Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. MLAs and dignitaries will take part in discussions and tributes that focus on these guiding principles.

Furthermore, hosting the session in Anandpur Sahib allows the Vidhan Sabha to reconnect with the roots of Sikh heritage. It also encourages citizens to reflect on the Guru’s message of freedom and compassion.

Overall, this historic event stands as a powerful reminder of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s legacy. It also reinforces Punjab’s responsibility to preserve its cultural and spiritual identity.

Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked him to arrange a suitable place.

The Puri family has preserved these relics for over 300 years. They include a footwear each of Guru Gobind Singh Ji (11″ x 3½”) and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji (9″ x 3″). Guru Sahib himself blessed the family with this seva. Now the family wants to share the relics with the sangat.

Hardeep Puri, as the eldest member, took the lead. He formed a committee with Sikh leaders and presented their recommendations to the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Culture examined the relics, and carbon testing confirmed their authenticity.

PM Modi has always supported Sikh heritage and its preservation. With his guidance, the Jore Sahib relics will be displayed with dignity. This step will allow devotees to connect deeply with the blessings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.

On September 16, Jeeta filed a police complaint after a group of miscreants allegedly tried to push pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar out of the city.

Viral social media clips showed men inside the Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib complex harassing visitors, checking their IDs, and forcing them toward the railway station. Jeeta rushed to the site, intervened, and stopped them. He said the act went against Sikh values, which uphold the right of everyone to seek blessings in a gurdwara.

Jeeta warned that such actions could harm Punjab’s image, especially that of Sikhs, across India. “As a Sikh, I can visit Patna Sahib freely. Similarly, pilgrims from Bihar and UP have every right to visit Anandpur Sahib,” he said. He also revealed that he had been trolled online for speaking out.

Police confirmed receiving the complaint, and an investigation is underway. The incident highlights growing tensions but also shows efforts by leaders to safeguard migrant labourers in Punjab and preserve communal harmony.

The programme, organised by the Punjab Government, had included a dance performance that upset Sikh religious circles.

Acting Jathedar Kuldip Singh Gargaj summoned both Zafar and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains to explain their roles. Bains appeared on August 6 and accepted tankhah (religious punishment) from the Sikh high priests.

Zafar was abroad during that hearing. After returning, he submitted an eight-page reply on August 14. When he appeared before the Takht, Zafar said he respected the authority of Sikh leaders. He also declared that he was ready to undergo any form of tankhah announced.

The case underlines the influence of Sikh religious institutions in Punjab’s social and political life. By submitting before the Takht, both leaders showed respect for Sikh sentiments. Officials in Punjab often face scrutiny when government events conflict with religious traditions.

This episode highlights how cultural programmes can quickly turn into matters of faith. It also shows that leaders still seek legitimacy and acceptance through Sikh institutions. The Akal Takht’s role remains strong in shaping public accountability in Punjab.
