The study will also cover healthcare, education, urban mobility, transit-oriented development (ToD) opportunities, and sector-wise employment targets, including skilled manpower availability. Environmental measures such as air quality, renewable energy, and water and wastewater management will form a key part of the analysis.

Benchmarks for the region will be set against global city regions, identifying key stakeholders and strategic strengths like education, IT, tourism, and manufacturing. Growth drivers such as global capacity centres, green energy, and industrial clusters will be prioritized, with market size estimates for each sector.

Pune’s rapid growth, fueled by dominant sectors like IT, automobiles, healthcare, and tourism, has created urbanization pressures, including rising water demand and waste management challenges. In September, DFF also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) to boost cooperation between South Korean startups and UAE government entities.
