The Nagaland government has cleared key issues, allowing Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) talks to move forward. This approval lets the state resume discussions with the Union government and local groups in eastern Nagaland. Many see it as a step toward addressing long-standing regional demands.

The FNTA proposal aims to give more autonomy and better governance to eastern districts. Local organisations, including the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), have consistently called for focused administrative powers to promote development and address local concerns.

The cabinet resolved points that previously slowed progress. As a result, the state can now participate fully in structured talks with the Centre and ENPO representatives. Officials said this approach will bring governance closer to residents while staying within constitutional guidelines.

Once established, the authority will manage planning, resource allocation, and administrative decisions for the eastern districts. Leaders added that this initiative will help meet local needs efficiently and support targeted development programs.

The FNTA discussions are part of ongoing dialogue between the Nagaland government, the Union government, and ENPO. Earlier, the state had submitted feedback on draft proposals, and all parties worked to align their positions. Stakeholders in eastern Nagaland welcomed the cabinet’s decision, noting that it removes procedural obstacles and adds momentum to the talks.

Officials and community representatives said they are optimistic the negotiations will soon result in a framework that strengthens administration and development in Frontier Nagaland. They highlighted that active collaboration between the state, Centre, and local groups remains crucial for progress.

The Congress government issued orders releasing ₹2,780 crore for various development works in urban local bodies.
Priority has been given to newly formed municipalities and those where nearby villages were recently merged. Officials have been instructed to ensure transparent and speedy implementation.

The government aims to transform every town into a growth hub under the “Telangana Rising Vision 2027” initiative. He attended the Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting held on Friday to review the “Housing for All” program. Officials discussed land reforms and faster construction measures during the meeting.

Minister Narayana stated that the state aims to fulfill every poor family’s dream of owning a house. He mentioned that the government is working with a clear plan to ensure smooth progress. The housing project will also support economic growth and employment in construction.

He reminded that between 2014 and 2019, the TDP government approved seven lakh TIDCO houses. Out of them, five lakh houses entered the construction phase. Later, political changes caused delays in project work and affected thousands of beneficiaries.

Minister Narayana said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ordered the completion of 2.6 lakh TIDCO houses by June 2026. The government targets to hand over houses within the deadline. He assured that no poor family would face problems during the housing process.
