He visited OU and explained that his government plans to upgrade the 108-year-old institution to international standards. He recalled that Telangana’s early movement began on this campus and noted that its spirit still inspires students today. He added that he came with a ₹1,000-crore commitment to reshape the university.

During the event, he rejected a prepared script and chose to speak from his experience. He said students should grow into lawyers, doctors, IAS officers and intellectuals. He described his rural background and said it shaped his understanding of people’s lives. Moreover, he assured that the government will develop the campus by including student and expert suggestions.

Revanth Reddy also highlighted social justice issues. He stressed that true development begins when the poorest receive real opportunities. He pointed to past failures in land distribution and questioned leaders who built large farmhouses while many Dalit families lacked basic resources. He reminded students that OU produced several national icons, including PV Narasimha Rao and Gaddar.

Furthermore, he said education brings progress, equality and dignity. He explained new projects such as Young India Integrated Schools and Young India Sports Schools. He said these institutions aim to create future champions and prepare students for global success.

The Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) General Headquarters has rolled out the Students’ Aid Fund 2025, a dedicated initiative aimed at supporting economically weaker Mizo students who struggle to continue their education due to financial constraints. The new guidelines, officially adopted under Executive Committee Sitting No. 647 (Resolution No. 8), reflect the student body’s commitment to ensuring that no deserving learner is forced to drop out because of economic hardship.

According to the MZP, the Students’ Aid Fund 2025 seeks to create a structured support system for Mizo students studying within and outside the state. The fund will provide financial assistance to those facing difficulties in paying tuition fees, examination charges, accommodation expenses and other essential educational costs. By standardising the application and selection process, the organisation hopes to make the assistance more transparent, accessible and impactful.

MZP leaders emphasised that the new guidelines were designed after extensive consultations with student groups, educational institutions and community stakeholders. The committee stated that the fund is not merely a financial aid mechanism but a long-term investment in the youth of Mizoram, encouraging them to pursue academic excellence without fear of economic barriers.

The Students’ Aid Fund will be supported through voluntary contributions, donations from well-wishers and fund-raising activities carried out by various MZP branches. The organisation urged the Mizo community, including alumni and civil society groups, to extend support for the initiative to ensure a wider reach and greater stability.

With rising educational expenses across the country, the MZP believes that the Students’ Aid Fund 2025 will play a crucial role in safeguarding the academic future of hundreds of Mizo students. The organisation has also announced that detailed application procedures and eligibility criteria will be released soon on its official platforms, ensuring timely support for students ahead of the new academic year.

The Telangana government has launched new efforts to ensure nutritious midday meals in government schools. Akshaya Patra Foundation has partnered to provide high-quality meals to all students in the Kodangal constituency. Foundation representatives met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and invited him to inaugurate the new Greenfield Kitchen on November 14.

The state-of-the-art kitchen will be built in Enkepally, spread over two acres. It will serve fresh food to all government schools in Kodangal. Education officials said student attendance has already improved since the breakfast scheme began in the area.

Currently, the government spends ₹7 per student for midday meals. However, Akshaya Patra plans to spend about ₹25 per meal to meet international standards. The foundation will cover the extra ₹18 per student using CSR funds, ensuring better quality and hygiene in every meal.

Inspired by the success of the breakfast program, Akshaya Patra is ready to enhance the midday meal scheme. Since last December, around 28,000 students in 312 schools have been receiving breakfast daily. The new initiative is expected to further boost student health and attendance across Kodangal.

Kavitha said such practices were crushing the dreams of thousands of female students, as many colleges were struggling to operate due to lack of financial support. She lashed out at the Congress for claiming to represent “Indiramma Rajyam” while pushing young women away from education.

Highlighting the urgency of the issue, Kavitha demanded immediate clearance of dues to safeguard the future of lakhs of students dependent on fee reimbursement. Her remarks add to the growing criticism of the state government’s handling of education funding, amid rising concerns from institutions and parents alike.
