Daytime train services on the Nandyal–Guntakal route were urged in Parliament by MP Byreddy Shabari. The MP stated that passengers were facing serious inconvenience due to night-only services. The issue was raised during Question Hour, drawing the attention of the Lok Sabha towards persistent travel difficulties.

The MP explained that four trains were operating on the route, but all of them were scheduled at late-night hours. He said services were arriving at 12:55 AM, 1:35 AM and 2:20 AM, while another train reached at 8:20 PM. Daily commuters, including students and employees, were said to be struggling with these timings.

A request was made by the MP for a daily MEMU or passenger service during daytime hours. He said such a facility would benefit thousands of regular travellers who rely on this route for education and employment. He emphasised that improved timings would ensure safer and more convenient travel.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw responded that the concern was understood and that a review was being carried out. He mentioned technical maintenance issues in Nandyal and stated that maintenance facilities existed only in Guntakal. The minister assured that corrective steps were underway and that a solution would be provided soon.

He said the state government approved ₹30 lakh for the project, and work on the new building will start shortly. This marks a significant step toward improving facilities at the Khaddar Village School Building Construction site.

Thakur praised the school’s strong performance. The institution achieved 100% results in Class 10 and Class 12 exams last year. He also appreciated local villagers for contributing ₹16 lakh to purchase three bighas of land to support the school’s infrastructure growth.

The minister highlighted the government’s broader efforts to strengthen education across the state. Over the last three years, the government appointed nearly 7,000 regular teachers. Recruitment for over 9,000 additional posts is currently underway, including TGTs, JBTs, lecturers, C&V teachers and NTTs.

Thakur encouraged students and teachers to continue their good work. He also stressed the need for regular school inspections to ensure high standards and accountability.

He added that the government introduced English-medium education from Class 1 to help rural students compete globally. He noted that Himachal Pradesh performed exceptionally well in both ASER and NAS surveys due to these reforms.
