President Murmu visited Nalanda University in Rajgir to attend the convocation ceremony. However, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary did not attend the programme. Their absence quickly triggered reactions from opposition leaders. As a result, Congress questions BJP silence on the matter.

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate criticized the ruling party and asked why it has not responded to the absence of top state leaders during the President’s visit. She said the BJP had earlier raised similar issues in other states.

Independent MP Pappu Yadav also reacted on social media. He asked whether the absence of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister during the President’s visit shows disrespect.

During the ceremony, President Murmu awarded degrees to 617 students from 31 countries. Several students also received gold medals for their academic achievements.
