Former minister T. Harish Rao met Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj at BRKR Bhavan, accusing the Congress of violating the election code in the Jubilee Hills by-election by distributing money to voters. He was joined by Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Srinivas Goud, MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, and MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy. BRS leaders urged officials to ensure free and fair polling in the constituency.

After the meeting, Harish Rao told the media that the Congress had created numerous fake voter ID cards to manipulate votes. The BRS submitted a formal complaint to the Election Commission, along with video evidence showing stacks of these cards.

Rao demanded the deployment of central forces at sensitive polling booths to maintain order. He also suggested assigning women police officers, ASHA workers, and Anganwadi staff to verify women voters’ identities in separate verification rooms.

With polling scheduled for Monday, videos showing piles of voter ID cards have gone viral. The footage has sparked intense discussion across Telangana and raised concerns about the integrity of the election process.

At a protest held at RTC Crossroads in Hyderabad, BRS leader and Sanathnagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav issued a stern warning to the Congress government, declaring that if it fails to implement the 42% reservation promise for BCs, the BRS will ensure the party is politically uprooted.

Speaking during the BC Bandh demonstration, Talasani accused the Congress of deceiving people with impractical promises and said the community would no longer tolerate such betrayal. He emphasized that the BRS will continue its fight for the self-respect and rights of Backward Classes, asserting that political pressure will intensify until justice is delivered.

The protest witnessed large participation from BRS cadres and BC organizations, raising slogans against the government’s inaction on its reservation commitment.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has demanded that the Telangana government conduct local body elections only after ensuring 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) through proper legal and constitutional measures. Senior BRS leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav made it clear that the party would not accept elections based on political party allocations instead of legally mandated reservations.

He warned that if Chief Minister Revanth Reddy continues to act unilaterally, the BRS will intensify its agitation. Talasani announced that BRS leaders and cadre will march from Telangana Bhavan tomorrow to participate in the statewide BC Bandh, expressing solidarity with backward communities.

The BRS maintains that conducting polls without restoring the 42% quota would be a betrayal of social justice, urging the government to uphold constitutional equality before proceeding.
