Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said global Telugu achievers continue to strengthen the Andhra Pradesh brand. He noted that Telugu professionals earn high per-capita income in many nations. Moreover, he pointed out that a large number of foreign students come from Telugu states. This global recognition, he said, significantly boosts the state’s image.

The Chief Minister explained that the Vishakha CII Summit rebuilt the state’s investment identity. Through the summit, Andhra Pradesh gained ₹13.26 lakh crore in commitments and 16 lakh potential jobs. Additionally, the State Investment Promotion Board cleared projects worth ₹8.29 lakh crore. He further mentioned that the Centre recently acknowledged Andhra Pradesh as the state with the highest number of industrial parks.

Naidu highlighted notable economic progress across sectors. During the first year, the state recorded 12.02% GSDP growth. In the second quarter, growth reached 11.28%, which was significantly higher than the national 8.7% rate. Furthermore, he set a 17% annual target and stressed accountability and transparency in all departments.

He also detailed reforms in irrigation, power, HRD, and regional development. To improve groundwater, the government plans new conservation systems. In addition, AP aims to reduce power costs and expand HRD centres. He added that upcoming technology and innovation hubs will push long-term economic growth across all regions.

Visakhapatnam Partnership Summit Sets New Investment Record

The Visakhapatnam Partnership Summit achieved huge success and created a new investment record for Andhra Pradesh. A total of 4,975 delegates from 60 countries attended the summit, including 630 international representatives. Major global companies expressed strong interest in establishing industries in the state. The government estimated ₹10 lakh crore investments, but the final figure reached ₹13.26 lakh crore, which is 30 percent higher.

The coalition government focused on industrial development from day one. Regular SIPB meetings were held to approve projects without delay. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited Singapore, UAE, and London to invite investors, while IT Minister Nara Lokesh met investors in the United States, Australia, and London. Their outreach gained a strong response at the summit and boosted global confidence in Andhra Pradesh.

A total of 613 MoUs were signed covering various sectors, offering 16.31 lakh employment opportunities. Of the total investments, ₹7.63 lakh crore deals were signed in the presence of the Chief Minister. Over 700 B2B meetings were held during the summit, and top corporate groups participated in discussions focused on technology, healthcare, aviation, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, and tourism growth.

The state projected itself as a stable and transparent investment destination. The government now aims to convert MoUs into ground-level implementation through faster infrastructure expansion, skill development, and special technology hubs. The summit positioned Andhra Pradesh as a competitive global investment hub once again.

Survey Finds Maternity Breaks and Bias Drive India’s Gender Pay Gap

A new survey reveals that 45% of jobseekers in India believe the gender pay gap exceeds 20%. Maternity-related career breaks and workplace bias are the main causes. The Naukri survey, covering 80 industries, found that 51% of professionals named maternity breaks as the primary reason for the gap.

Workplace bias was cited by 27% of respondents, especially in sectors like IT, pharma, and automobiles. These industries reported the highest levels of pay inequality. IT professionals led at 56%.

The survey also shows that mid-level professionals with 5-10 years of experience felt the biggest impact of career breaks on pay. Hyderabad (59%) and Bengaluru (58%) had the highest concerns over pay inequities.

IT topped the list as the industry with the widest gender pay gap. Other sectors like aviation and education also had high perceptions of disparity, while real estate, FMCG, and banking had lower concerns.

The survey suggests performance-led promotions and bias-free hiring practices as solutions. Noida and Gurgaon had the strongest calls for pay transparency.
