Interestingly, several MLAs failed to secure wins in their own villages despite winning large constituencies earlier. This trend has triggered political debate across the state. In Kodangal constituency, represented by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Congress candidates dominated the polls. Across Maddur, Kosgi, Kothapally, and Gundumal mandals, Congress secured 52 of 67 seats. The remaining seats were won by other candidates. This outcome strengthened Congress’s position in the Chief Minister’s constituency.

In Mahabubnagar district, results remained evenly balanced in some mandals. Mahabubnagar Rural mandal saw Congress and BRS win 12 seats each. Meanwhile, Congress maintained an advantage in Mohammadabad and Gandeed mandals. These results highlighted close competition between the two parties.

Jadcherla constituency delivered a major setback to the ruling party. In Rajapur mandal, BRS won 17 seats, while Congress secured only four. Notably, the Congress candidate lost in the MLA’s native village Rangareddygudem. Overall, the first phase results favored Congress, but BRS emerged stronger than expected.
