A.P. rejects Telangana’s demand for 50:50 sharing of Krishna waters, stating that such a proposal lacks a legal and hydrological basis. The Andhra Pradesh government conveyed its stand to the Central Water Commission (CWC) during recent discussions on river water allocation.

Officials said the demand ignores established principles of river basin management and past agreements. They clarified that the diversion of surplus water from the Polavaram project will not harm upper riparian States, including Telangana. According to A.P., the surplus flows would otherwise go waste into the sea.

The State urged the CWC to issue clear and enforceable guidelines on Krishna water allocation. Officials said ambiguity in allocations continues to trigger disputes and delays in project planning. A transparent framework, they added, will help all States plan irrigation and drinking water needs more effectively.

A.P. rejects Telangana’s demand for 50:50 sharing of Krishna waters also because the river’s yield varies each year. Fixed percentage-based sharing, officials argued, does not reflect ground realities or seasonal availability.

The State maintained that equitable distribution must consider usage patterns, basin contribution, and existing infrastructure. It called on the Centre to play a proactive role in resolving inter-State water disputes through clarity and consistency.

The Andhra Pradesh government earlier planned the Polavaram–Banakacharla link project and sent proposals to the Centre. However, Telangana strongly opposed the plan and complained to the Union Jal Shakti Ministry. As a result, the AP government stepped back from the initial design. Later, AP redesigned the project and renamed it as the Polavaram–Nallamala Sagar link to shift Polavaram water to Bollapalli and Nallamala Sagar reservoirs. Moreover, the government recently issued tenders to prepare the DPR.

Meanwhile, Telangana has taken a firm stand on the revised project. Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that the state will file objections in the Supreme Court against the Polavaram–Nallamala Sagar proposal. He said that Andhra Pradesh ignored Telangana’s water concerns, and therefore legal action became necessary.

Additionally, the Telangana government requested senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi to argue the case in the Supreme Court. The minister confirmed that Singhvi agreed to represent the state. This step signals a more aggressive approach to protecting Telangana’s water rights.

Furthermore, Telangana Bhavan in Delhi will host a preparatory meeting tomorrow at noon to discuss the strategy for the case. Later, at 2:30 PM, Uttam Kumar Reddy will meet Singhvi to finalise the legal plan. The government aims to prevent any project that impacts Telangana’s share of Krishna river water.

The new Vision Document 2047 aims to transform Telangana into a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047.

The document sets clear goals for youth employment, women’s empowerment, agriculture, industry and public services.

Tension rose in Lingampalli village of Tungaturthi constituency during the first phase of the Sarpanch elections. Clashes broke out between local Congress workers and BRS leaders. In this violence, BRS leader Uppula Mallayya died on the spot due to severe injuries. Seven others suffered wounds, and police rushed them to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Former minister and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao strongly condemned the attack. He criticised the ruling Congress, saying the party was promoting fear during the polls. After learning about the incident, he spoke with former minister Jagadish Reddy and former MLA Gadari Kishore to review the situation on the ground.

KTR accused Congress workers of acting with arrogance and resorting to physical violence in the village. He stated that such attacks showed the party’s decline. He assured that the BRS party would continue to stand firm and would not allow any intimidation. He also urged officials to maintain peace in the region.

KTR encouraged party workers and asked them not to lose confidence. He promised full support to the family of the deceased leader and the injured victims. He demanded strict action against those responsible for the attack. He also called for immediate justice for the affected families.

The event was planned to support Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s aim of building a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047. Massive investor participation was seen, and agreements with global companies indicated fresh economic momentum.

Record investments of ₹5.75 lakh crore were confirmed during the summit. Delegates from many countries and leading industries visited Hyderabad and joined hands with the government. Unlike routine visits to Davos, international companies were invited directly to Telangana, and a strong response was received. This approach strengthened confidence in the Rising-2047 vision.

The summit was conducted in a pleasant setting with coordinated work by ministers and officials. Guests were honoured with Pochampally Ikat shawls, Hyderabadi perfumes, pearl jewellery, and Cheriyal paintings. Telangana sweets and Hyderabadi biryani were served, and visitors expressed high appreciation.

Cultural programs such as Perini dance, Kommu Koya performance, Veena recital, Gussadi show, and an MM Keeravani concert were staged. A large drone show was arranged to present the Vision-2047 themes, and it impressed all visitors. Selected school children were allowed to tour the summit between 2 PM and 7 PM.

The Indian Railways introduced the Tirupati–Sainagar Shirdi Weekly Express to support pilgrims who frequently travel between the two temple towns. Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna inaugurated the service virtually, marking a fresh step in enhancing religious connectivity.

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy flagged off the train at Tirupati Railway Station. Several leaders, including MLA Arani Srinivasulu, TTD Board Member Bhanu Prakash Reddy, and MLC Balli Kalyan Chakravarthy, joined the ceremony. MPs Gurumoorthy and Ragunath Reddy attended the event virtually and appreciated the new service.

The weekly express travels from Tirupati to Sainagar Shirdi through Gudur, Ongole, Guntur and Secunderabad. This route gives pilgrims from all these regions easier access to the Shirdi Sai Baba temple. Rail officials stated that the new service will reduce travel difficulties, especially for weekend travelers.

Residents said the improved connectivity will support people from both states.

A threat email sent to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office and Raj Bhavan created tension in Hyderabad on Monday. The message came from an ID under the name “Vasuki Khan.” It claimed that explosives were placed inside both the CMO and Raj Bhavan and warned of an imminent blast. The alert was taken seriously due to its direct reference to high-security offices.

Soon after the email was noticed, the Governor’s Chief Security Officer Srinivas reached the Panjagutta Police Station and filed a complaint. Police teams moved quickly and launched an investigation. They also alerted specialised security units to begin checks at both locations.

BDS teams, anti-sabotage squads, dog squads, and Task Force units conducted intensive inspections in both premises. They searched the buildings and surrounding areas for three hours. Police later confirmed that they found no explosives or suspicious objects during this operation.

Cybercrime teams have started tracking the email source. They are analysing the IP address, server location, and sender details. Security around the CMO and Raj Bhavan has been tightened after the threat. Police teams continue to monitor both locations to prevent any risk.

Hyderabad hosted a major global education summit on Monday, where experts from academia, industry and government outlined how Telangana can build a world-class education hub. Speakers said the state needs clarity on its purpose, goals and resources before shaping its global strategy. Former NAAC director Prof. V.S. Prasad emphasized that global education must remain accessible to all students, not just a select group.

He explained that NAAC plans a new multi-level grading system to match national and international standards. He added that Telangana must define clear benchmarks to qualify as a global hub. Health minister Damodar Rajanarasimha highlighted the government’s top priority—education for the girl child. He said empowered girls can reshape the state’s socio-economic future.

Industry leaders also stressed the need for digital skills. NAASCOM executive director Sandhya Chintala said global partnerships and investments will strengthen the state’s talent pipeline. She noted that nearly 45% of Silicon Valley’s workforce has roots in Telangana, including tech leaders like Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai.

Experts agreed that excellence and equity must work together. They said private institutions often drive quality, while public institutions promote equity. They insisted that a true global hub should improve learning outcomes across all colleges, not only elite ones.
