During the last 24 hours, Barmer recorded the highest maximum temperature at 32°C, while Fatehpur emerged as the coldest spot in the state, with the mercury plunging to 4.7°C. Weather experts expect dry conditions to dominate Rajasthan for the coming week. However, a new western disturbance is likely to become active between December 18 and 20 over parts of northwest India, bringing subtle changes.

Due to its partial impact, Rajasthan may see intermittent cloud cover over the next two days. This could push minimum temperatures up by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. The department has forecast normal winter conditions for the next two weeks, with no extreme fluctuations expected.

Jaipur is unlikely to see major temperature changes. The city may experience cloudy skies for the next couple of days, with minimum temperatures hovering between 11°C and 12°C. Similar cold conditions persist in Sikar, Dausa, Alwar, and Churu, where temperatures are nearing the 6–7°C mark.

Residents are advised to stay cautious as winter gradually deepens across the state.

South India continues to face weather disturbances, with very heavy rainfall warnings issued for North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema on December 3.

The IMD further stated that minimum temperatures in Uttar Pradesh will drop by 2–3°C over the next three days. No major temperature changes are expected in Central and East India initially, but a dip of 2–3°C may follow later.

Dense fog is also likely in Assam, Meghalaya, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Himachal Pradesh on December 4–6. Minimum temperatures in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh continue to remain below 6°C, while several parts of Uttarakhand, Punjab, UP, Haryana, North Rajasthan, and MP are recording 6–10°C.

School Timings Revised Amid Cold Wave
The harsh winter has particularly impacted school-going children. To ensure student safety, the Narmadapuram Collector has issued a new directive changing school timings.
Earlier, morning shift classes began at 6 AM. Under the revised order, all classes from Nursery to Class 12 will now begin at 9 AM, offering major relief to students and parents.

In Bhopal, a slight change in weather was observed on Sunday due to cloud cover, which reduced the cold intensity. Winds shifted from the northern to the south-eastern direction, leading to a gradual temperature increase. The minimum temperature rose to 9°C, bringing mild relief during morning and evening hours.

Cold Wave Alert in Chhattisgarh
The IMD has also issued a cold wave alert for northern and central parts of Chhattisgarh. The affected districts include Raipur, Korea, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Surajpur, Surguja, Jashpur, Janjgir-Champa, Bilaspur, Mungeli, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Raigarh, and Sarangarh-Bilaigarh.

Owing to cold winds arriving from North India, several parts of Chhattisgarh have recorded a sharp drop in temperatures over the last few days. The IMD expects further decline in temperatures over the coming days, increasing the chances of cold wave conditions in many areas.
