Amritsar Brothers Held With IED in Cross-Border Terror Plot during an ongoing intelligence-led crackdown across Punjab. The Amritsar Rural Police tracked two brothers, Akashdeep Singh and Yuvraj Singh, after receiving strong inputs about their suspicious movements and frequent calls to foreign numbers. Amritsar Brothers Held With IED highlights how quickly the police acted once they confirmed the threat.

The police team stopped the duo near village Ranike and searched their motorcycle. During the search, officers found an Improvised Explosive Device and two mobile phones used for communication with their handler. The brothers tried to conceal their route; however, the teams closed in on them before they could move any further. Officials also seized the motorcycle to prevent any escape attempt.

Investigators say the two men stayed in contact with a Pakistan-based handler who guided them step by step. Moreover, digital evidence shows that the handler pushed them to carry out a major terror strike in the border district. Their encrypted chats and late-night calls strengthened the suspicion, prompting officers to escalate the operation.

Soon after detaining them, the Special Cell called forensic teams to examine the explosive. Experts neutralised the IED safely and handed over the spot for detailed documentation. With this swift action, the police successfully stopped a possible attack that could have caused widespread panic.

Now, teams are interrogating both brothers to identify every person connected to this module. Officials are already checking money trails, deleted messages, and other communication patterns. Since the case involves cross-border links, senior officers expect more arrests as the investigation expands.

The police registered an FIR under the Explosive Substances Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Police Station Gharinda, marking the beginning of a deeper and more aggressive probe into the network.

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four additional suspects in connection with the 10 November blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, which killed at least 15 people and injured several others. With these arrests, the total number of accused in the case has risen to six, officials said.

The newly arrested individuals include Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai from Pulwama (J&K), Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag (J&K), Dr Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Shopian (J&K). Three are medical professionals, while the fourth is a religious preacher. The Patiala House Court granted custody to the NIA, which took the suspects into Srinagar for interrogation.

State prosecutors highlighted that the blast was meticulously planned, involving a combination of local and cross-border operatives. Authorities are interrogating the accused to identify all links and uncover the broader conspiracy behind the attack. Earlier, the NIA had arrested Amir Rashid Ali and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, linked to the explosives-laden Hyundai i20 used in the blast and the attempted recruitment of a potential suicide bomber. On Tuesday, Wani was remanded to 10 days of NIA custody by a special NIA court at Patiala House.

According to the agency, the suspects are part of a white-collar terror module dismantled by Jammu & Kashmir police in coordination with authorities in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. During the investigation, a lead emerged from Al Falah University in Faridabad, where 2,900 kg of explosives were recovered.

The NIA, which formally took over the case on 11 November, continues to probe multiple angles, including financing, recruitment, and logistical support, as investigators work to dismantle the terror network entirely.

Investigators probing the November 10 Red Fort suicide car bomb attack have uncovered a far more extensive terror conspiracy aimed at carrying out multiple coordinated strikes across Delhi. According to agencies, the module behind the attack was developing a sophisticated suite of Hamas-style low-cost, high-impact weapons, including improvised rockets, weaponised drones, and long-range gliding projectiles.

At the centre of the plot was Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, arrested in Srinagar shortly after the detention of Amir Rashid Ali in Delhi. Both suspects are residents of Jammu and Kashmir and were allegedly working together to build an arsenal capable of widespread urban disruption.
Investigators describe Danish as the technical mind of the module, with prior experience in assembling weaponised drones. He was reportedly modifying drones to carry heavier explosive loads, integrating large batteries and onboard cameras to enhance strike capability.

A key component of the plan involved Hamas-style gliding rockets, lightweight projectiles capable of travelling up to 25 kilometres. These rockets can be launched from the ground or by hand and are valued for their rapid deployment — one in under 20 seconds, and three within a minute. Such systems, when used in volume, can overwhelm urban security networks.

The group was also experimenting with pneumatic improvised rockets, which use compressed gas for stable launches and can carry explosive payloads between 2 and 50 kilograms, offering greater accuracy in densely populated areas.

Additionally, investigators found evidence of work on UAV rail launchers and payload-dropping drones designed to release grenades or small bombs on structures from above.

Authorities emphasise that such weapon systems require coordinated teams, funding, and specialised skills — not a lone-wolf operation. Officials say the successful deployment of these weapons could have led to large-scale destruction and panic across the capital.

The powerful explosion on Monday evening killed 12 people and injured several others, triggering massive security operations across Delhi.

According to official sources, the suspects had conducted a recce of the Red Fort and planned to strike during the Republic Day celebrations. The white Hyundai i20 used in the blast was parked for 11 days at Haryana’s Al-Falah Medical College. The suspected bomber, Dr Umar Nabi, allegedly detonated the bomb prematurely while fleeing increased security checks.

Officials said the explosion appeared accidental, as the device was incomplete and failed to cause full damage. The Delhi blast part of larger terror plan has prompted an intense alert, with Delhi Police, paramilitary forces, and the Intelligence Bureau jointly reviewing security.

Sniffer dogs, anti-sabotage teams, and metal detectors have been deployed at markets, metro stations, and tourist spots. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report suspicious activity. Security checks will continue until further notice to ensure public safety and confidence.

Additional CP Pramod Singh Kushwaha revealed the details during a press conference this morning. The arrests took place over the past two days in multiple states.

Those arrested include one suspect from Jharkhand, two from Delhi originally from Mumbai, one from Nizamabad in Telangana, and another from Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh. Officials seized sulfur powder, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, sodium bicarbonate, pH testers, ball bearings, wires, IED-making tools, laptops, mobile phones, firearms, and ammunition.

According to police, the suspects were working under instructions from a Pakistan handler who directed them to build a team and carry out attacks following the “Khilafat model.” Danish from Jharkhand, considered the key accused, allegedly coordinated directly with the handler. He used the online identity “Ghazwa Leader” with the codename “CEO.” Another accused, Aftab Ansari from Thane, was tasked with procuring weapons for target killings.

The arrested men, aged between 20 and 26, were reportedly trained to prepare explosives and use arms. Investigators also recovered incriminating drawings.
