Several districts in Maharashtra, such as Jalna, Beed, and Solapur, are under red alert, signaling the likelihood of intense rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Most other regions in the state remain under yellow and orange alerts, indicating moderate rain conditions.

The IMD also warns of heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas across India, including Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, north interior Karnataka, Odisha, and Telangana. Other states like Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Sikkim may experience scattered heavy rain.

Thunderstorms with strong winds of 40–65 kmph are likely in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Kerala, Odisha, Rayalaseema, and parts of West Bengal and Sikkim. Squally winds are also expected over the southwest Arabian Sea and off the Somalia coast, reaching up to 65 kmph.

Authorities have advised residents and commuters to stay alert, avoid low-lying areas, and follow official guidelines. The Mumbai heavy rain forecast underscores the need for caution, as waterlogging and traffic disruptions are possible throughout the weekend.
