Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said the schools will stay closed from November 22 to November 26. He explained that thousands of devotees have already started arriving, and the number will grow significantly in the coming days. The town is witnessing increased traffic movement, and the government wants to avoid any risk to students, parents, and teachers.

The minister also pointed out that traffic congestion and movement restrictions could make daily commuting unsafe. Therefore, the temporary closure aims to support crowd management and maintain smooth movement across the region during the commemorations.

Authorities expect the main events to attract visitors from across India, which will put pressure on local roads and public facilities. The government believes the holiday will reduce strain on the area and allow officials to manage the historic events effectively.

Schools in the Anandpur Sahib block will resume normal classes after November 26.
