This move sets a new benchmark for nature-positive infrastructure and environmental transparency.

Through this initiative, APSEZ joins leading global port operators committed to biodiversity protection. The company aims to implement TNFD-aligned reporting on nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities, highlighting its focus on sustainable development.

The TNFD is a global science-based initiative supported by UNEP FI, UNDP, WWF, and Global Canopy. It helps businesses identify and disclose nature-related risks and opportunities. APSEZ CEO Ashwani Gupta stated that responsible business practices drive long-term success, and adopting TNFD supports nature-related corporate reporting at COP30 while enhancing biodiversity conservation.

APSEZ plans to align its disclosures with TNFD recommendations starting FY26. The company has already assessed climate risks under global standards, planted over 4,200 hectares of mangroves, and conserved another 3,000 hectares — India’s largest private mangrove restoration effort. With 15 ports and a fleet of 127 vessels, APSEZ continues to lead sustainable maritime logistics.
