Red Fort blast accused Wani has been sent to seven days of NIA custody by a Delhi court on Thursday. The agency produced Jasir Bilal Wani before the court as his earlier 10-day custody, granted on November 18, came to an end. Principal Sessions and District Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna had ordered the previous custody.

Wani, a resident of Qazigund in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, was arrested in Srinagar on November 17. Investigators say he allegedly offered technical support for terror activities. They claim he modified drones and attempted to design rockets ahead of the November 10 Red Fort blast. According to NIA officials, these activities formed a key part of the larger conspiracy.

Meanwhile, another accused linked to the case was sent to NIA custody on Wednesday. The Patiala House Court remanded Soyab, a resident of Faridabad, to 10 days of custody. The agency alleges that he provided shelter to the suspected Red Fort bomber, Umar-un Nabi.

In a separate terror-related development, Jammu Police arrested a 19-year-old youth on Thursday. The accused, originally from Reasi district and now living in Jammu’s Bathindi area, was held in connection with an FIR under Section 113(3) of the BNS, which deals with terrorist activity. Police said initial investigations show that the youth had been radicalised online. They added that he was allegedly planning to carry out a terror attack.

Officials stated that further investigation is under way in both cases as agencies attempt to uncover wider networks connected to the suspects.

The ongoing probe into the Delhi blast Nepal Kanpur case, which killed 13 people on November 10, has revealed critical details about the planning and execution of the attack. Investigators say the conspirators bought seven second-hand mobile phones from Nepal and used 17 SIM cards, six of which were purchased in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

SIM Cards and Phones Trace

Two of the SIM cards were identified using IDs from Beconganj, a central area in Kanpur. This discovery prompted immediate action by Delhi Police’s Special Cell, highlighting the Delhi blast Nepal Kanpur connection. The careful planning over four weeks, from October 2 to October 28, involved acquiring devices and communication tools across borders.

Medical Professionals Linked

The investigation also uncovered links between the blast accused and three doctors who remained in contact with Dr Umar Mohammad (alias Umar un-Nabi) until an hour before the blast near the Red Fort. The doctors—Dr Parvez, Dr Mohammad Arif, and Dr Farooq Ahmad Dar—are connected to medical institutions in Lucknow and Kanpur.

Dr Parvez, an assistant professor at Integral University in Lucknow, is the brother of Dr Shaheen Saeed, another accused. Dr Mohammad Arif, a first-year DM (Cardiology) student at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, and Dr Farooq Ahmad Dar, an assistant professor at GS Medical College, were all questioned by authorities.

Kanpur’s Role in Planning

During the investigation, Dr Parvez was seen meeting friends in multiple Kanpur locations, including Colonelganj, GSVM Medical College, Babupurwa, and Mandhana. Usman, a Beconganj shop owner and Dr Parvez’s brother-in-law, was also questioned.

The Delhi blast Nepal Kanpur investigation underscores how cross-border mobile phones and locally sourced SIM cards were critical to planning the attack. Authorities continue to probe these links to prevent further incidents and bring all conspirators to justice.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a significant breakthrough in the Red Fort car bomb blast case with the arrest of a Kashmiri man who allegedly assisted the suicide bomber responsible for the deadly explosion. The blast, which took place near the iconic Red Fort, resulted in the death of 10 civilians and left around 25 others injured.

The arrested accused has been identified as Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Samboora in Pampore, Jammu and Kashmir. According to the NIA, the car used in the attack was registered under Ali’s name. He was taken into custody in Delhi following an extensive search operation launched after the agency took over the case from Delhi Police. Investigators revealed that Ali had travelled to the capital to help arrange the car later converted into a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

NIA officials stated that Ali conspired with the alleged suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi, who drove the explosive-laden vehicle that detonated. Nabi, a resident of Pulwama district, was previously working as an Assistant Professor in the General Medicine department at Al Falah University, Faridabad. Through forensic examination, the NIA has confirmed Nabi’s identity as the deceased driver of the IED-fitted vehicle.

Additionally, officers have seized another vehicle linked to Nabi, which is currently being inspected for further evidence. As part of the ongoing investigation, the agency has recorded statements from at least 73 witnesses, including survivors of the November 10 explosion that shook the national capital.
