The announcement followed a high-level stakeholder consultation titled “Stakeholders Consultation for Mizoram Ginger Produce”, organised jointly by the Mizoram government and NITI Aayog at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on Monday. Over 60 participants from government departments, Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs), entrepreneurs, and industry representatives attended the session, focusing on strengthening value chains, improving processing facilities, and boosting market linkages for ginger.

The consultation encouraged open discussions on expanding trade linkages, boosting processing and export potential, and creating a sustainable ecosystem for ginger farmers. Stakeholders also explored technological innovations in cultivation, organic certification standards, and financial support mechanisms to benefit small-scale producers.

The state government announced the “Ginger Buyer–Seller Meet” in Aizawl on December 5–6 to further facilitate business collaborations and market linkages.
