]]> Farmers in Andhra Pradesh are expressing concern over the sharp decline in tomato prices. At the Pattikonda market in Kurnool district, tomatoes have been selling for only Rs. 2 to Rs. 3 per kilogram over the past two days, leaving growers worried about their income.

On Wednesday, traders purchased 25 kg tomato bundles at rates ranging between Rs. 150 and Rs. 300 per bundle, further highlighting the steep price drop. Farmers are urging the Marketing Department to intervene and ensure the government-guaranteed minimum price of Rs. 8 per kilogram is implemented, as promised earlier.

The significant price fall has not only impacted farmers’ earnings but also created uncertainty about the sustainability of tomato cultivation in the region. Timely action by authorities is considered essential to protect farmers’ interests and stabilize the market.
