At 66, Devvrat continues to serve Gujarat, where he has been Governor since 2019. He holds postgraduate degrees in Hindi and History, along with a doctorate in Naturopathy and Yogic Science. The Vice President elections concluded on Tuesday at the Parliament complex. CP Radhakrishnan secured a massive win over Justice Sudarshan Reddy by a margin of 152 votes. Out of 771 eligible MPs, 767 exercised their voting rights, reflecting high participation.

Radhakrishnan, 67, was widely congratulated after the results were announced by returning officer P.C. Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with several national leaders, hailed his victory. The ruling alliance celebrated the outcome, calling it a strong mandate for Radhakrishnan.

Mr. C P Radhakrishnan, born on 04.05.1957, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, a senior BJP leader. Presently, working as Governor of Maharashtra and also worked as Governor of Jharkhand, twice elected Member of Parliament (LS) from Coimbatore constituency.

The NDA holds a clear numerical advantage in the Electoral College, with approximately 427 MPs (Lok Sabha: 293, Rajya Sabha: 134), compared to the Opposition’s 354 MPs (Lok Sabha: 249, Rajya Sabha: 105). The winning threshold is 392. Key allies like Shiv Sena have declared “unconditional support” for Radhakrishnan. Parties including JD(U), TDP, YSR Congress Party, and others have aligned with NDA, further strengthening their vote count.
