The Taliban government has firmly rejected former US President Donald Trump’s demand to hand back control of the Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan. Foreign Minister Amir clarified that the Taliban will not give even an inch of Afghan territory to the Americans.

While expressing willingness to maintain diplomatic relations with the United States, the Taliban emphasized that they will not allow the US to reestablish any military presence in the country. The strategic significance of Bagram Airbase, located close to China, is believed to be a key reason behind Trump’s demand for its return.

The Taliban’s stance signals their intent to assert full sovereignty over Afghan territory while cautiously managing international relations. Analysts note that the refusal to return Bagram may impact future negotiations and cooperation with the US, highlighting the complex geopolitical dynamics in the region. Afghanistan’s control over the base underscores the Taliban’s growing influence in the country.
