Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has decided to stay out of the Jubilee Hills by-election. During a meeting with Telangana TDP leaders, party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu clarified that the party cadre was not prepared for the contest.
He also cited the alliance with the BJP in Andhra Pradesh as a key reason for the decision, stating that TDP could not act against its partner’s interests. Naidu instructed party members to either support the BJP candidate if requested or remain neutral, but under no circumstances extend support to the Congress or BRS.
This marks another instance of TDP maintaining its strategic alignment with the BJP while avoiding direct involvement in Telangana politics. The decision is seen as part of TDP’s broader focus on consolidating its position in Andhra Pradesh ahead of future electoral battles.
