Tej Pratap Yadav Launches Janshakti Janata Dal

Tej Pratap Yadav forms Janshakti Janata Dal

Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav has launched a new party, the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), after being expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and his father Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family. The election symbol of his party is a blackboard. Tej Pratap plans to contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections under this banner.

In his campaign poster, he showcased five great leaders—Mahatma Gandhi, B.R. Ambedkar, Ram Manohar Lohia, Jai Prakash Narayan, and Karpoori Thakur. Through these images, he highlighted his vision of social justice, Gandhian values, and support for backward, Dalit, and poor communities. Interestingly, the poster did not feature Lalu Prasad Yadav, showing Tej Pratap’s clear break from RJD politics.

Tej Pratap was earlier expelled from his family and the RJD after controversies around his personal life. Now, he is preparing to contest from the Mahua seat in Vaishali district and may also field candidates in other constituencies. His move has sparked intense discussion in Bihar’s political circles.
