Tejashwi Promises Bonus for Farmers Ahead of First Phase Voting

As the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections approaches, campaigning is intensifying across the state. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav promised farmers a bonus over the minimum support price (MSP) if his party comes to power. He announced a ₹300 per quintal bonus for paddy and ₹400 per quintal for wheat in addition to the MSP.
Political parties are making a final push, holding rallies and public meetings to sway voters in key constituencies. Tejashwi emphasized support for agriculture and rural development as a cornerstone of his campaign, aiming to attract the large farming electorate in Bihar.
The first phase of polling is scheduled soon, with voters expected to turn out in significant numbers. Observers note that promises such as these could influence the electoral outcome, highlighting the importance of the rural vote in Bihar’s political landscape.
