Telangana Aims ₹1 Lakh Crore Investment in Life Sciences

Telangana Life Sciences Investment plan aims ₹1L crore and 1L jobs, inviting global firms to boost innovation and healthcare growth.

Hyderabad: Telangana plans to attract ₹1 lakh crore in new investments in the life sciences sector by 2030, aiming to create one lakh jobs, Industries & IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said. He delivered the keynote at the AusBiotech International Conference 2025 in Melbourne, outlining the state’s roadmap to become a global life sciences hub.

Speaking at the conclave, organised by AusBiotech and the Government of Victoria, Sridhar Babu announced a Life Sciences Policy 2030 to boost innovation, infrastructure, and global collaborations. He invited Australian companies to invest in high-growth areas like cell and gene therapy, biologics, biosimilars, mRNA vaccines, diagnostics, MedTech, CRDM, and digital health.

Telangana is investing in a bio-digital workforce to meet demands in biotechnology, AI, and healthcare. The minister highlighted Hyderabad’s emergence as a global life sciences hub, alongside cities like Boston, San Francisco, Cambridge, Beijing, and Tokyo, as listed in the Global Life Sciences Atlas 2025. It is the only Indian city on the list.

He also invited Australian firms to participate in BioAsia 2026 in Hyderabad, aiming to establish a Victoria-Telangana Innovation Corridor. Sridhar Babu emphasised the state’s motto: “Invent in Telangana,” reflecting its commitment to nurturing innovation ecosystems and attracting global investments.
