The Telangana Assembly held an intense overnight debate on the Justice Chandra Ghose Commission report regarding the Kaleshwaram irrigation project. After the discussion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the report would be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a detailed probe. He directed the agency to thoroughly examine the commission’s findings.
Reacting on X, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay said the ruling BRS party was fully responsible for the alleged corruption. He argued that a CBI inquiry had been demanded from the start, but Congress delayed the move to shield BRS leaders. “The government has finally bowed to the truth and agreed to hand over the case,” he stated, urging that the letter be sent to CBI without delay. He also criticized Congress for failing to form the promised SIT on ORR toll tenders and pointed to the unresolved phone-tapping controversy.
