Telangana BJP Chief Calls Hyderabad Man’s Link to Australia Shooting an ‘Insult to India’

Telangana BJP president and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday termed the alleged involvement of a Hyderabad-born man in the recent shooting at Bondi Beach in Australia as an “insult to India.” His remarks came after Telangana Police confirmed that Sajid Akram, one of the suspects in the incident that claimed 15 lives, was originally from Hyderabad.
Condemning the attack, Mr. Reddy said such acts of violence go against India’s values of peace and humanity. He stressed that terrorism and extremism have no religion or nationality and should be dealt with firmly wherever they occur. The BJP leader also assured full cooperation with Australian authorities in the investigation.
Telangana Police said they were coordinating with central agencies to verify details related to the suspect’s background, travel history and possible links. Officials clarified that preliminary information suggested the accused had been residing abroad for several years.
Leaders across parties expressed condolences to the victims’ families and reiterated the need for global cooperation to combat violent extremism.
