Telangana Cold Wave Hits: Sangareddy at 5.8°C, Rangareddy 6.0°C
Telangana is experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures dropping to 5.8°C in Sangareddy and 6.0°C in Rangareddy on Thursday, officials said. The chilly weather has affected daily routines across the districts.
Meteorologists said early morning temperatures have been consistently low due to clear skies and calm winds. Several other districts in Telangana also recorded temperatures below 10°C, signalling one of the coldest spells of the season.
Health officials urged residents, especially the elderly and children, to take precautions. They recommended wearing warm clothing, avoiding prolonged exposure to the cold, and using blankets or heaters at home.
Schools in some districts have advised students to dress warmly, while local authorities are monitoring the situation to prevent cold-related health issues.
Officials also warned that farmers should protect sensitive crops and livestock from frost and cold damage. The cold wave is expected to persist for the next few days, with slight improvement by the weekend.
