Telangana is witnessing widespread heavy rainfall, prompting authorities to declare school holidays in six more districts to ensure student safety. The newly affected districts are Nalgonda, Yadadri, Karimnagar, Khammam, Jagityal, and Sircilla. This move follows earlier closures in Komaram Bheem, Kamareddy, Medak, Nirmal, Adilabad, and Asifabad due to flooding and waterlogging concerns.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across the state today, urging residents to remain cautious. Education authorities have instructed schools to keep students indoors and suspend classes until conditions stabilize. Parents are advised to monitor weather updates closely and avoid sending children to schools in affected areas.
Emergency response teams are on standby to handle any flood-related situations, ensuring public safety. Officials continue to assess rainfall impact on infrastructure and roads, prioritizing preventive measures to minimize risks during this period of extreme weather.
