Telangana Govt Assures MANUU Land Will Remain Intact: Minister Azhar
Telangana Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali Azhar on January 10, 2026, clarified that the State government has no plans to reclaim the land allocated to the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). Speaking from Hyderabad, he assured students, faculty, and the community that the government remains committed to supporting the university’s growth and infrastructure development.
Minister Azhar emphasized that MANUU plays a vital role in promoting higher education among minority communities, particularly in Telangana. He said the government values the institution’s contribution to academic excellence and cultural development and will continue facilitating its expansion rather than interfering with its land or operations.
The Minister also appealed to the public and media to avoid spreading misinformation about the university’s land status, stating that the government’s policy is to safeguard educational institutions and ensure they function smoothly to benefit students and faculty alike.
