Telangana Govt Plans Affordable Housing for Middle Class, Kukatpally Redevelopment Proposed
The Telangana government is actively considering a policy to provide affordable housing for the middle class, Housing Minister announced in Hyderabad. Four locations across the state have been identified for implementing the scheme, which aims to offer modern, cost-effective residential options to urban families.
One of the key proposals under discussion is the redevelopment of dilapidated houses in the Kukatpally Housing Board area. The plan includes replacing old structures with high-rise apartments, providing residents with safer, better-equipped living spaces while optimising land use in the city. The Minister highlighted that the policy seeks to balance affordability with quality, ensuring that middle-class families have access to well-planned housing and essential amenities.
Officials are evaluating technical, financial, and social aspects of the project, including relocation measures for existing residents. The government aims to finalise the policy soon and begin execution, reflecting its commitment to urban development and improving living standards for middle-income households.
