The Telangana Government has announced a major financial boost for municipalities across the state. The Congress government issued orders releasing ₹2,780 crore for various development works in urban local bodies. Approvals have been given for 2,432 projects in 138 municipalities and municipal corporations. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to invite tenders immediately and begin the projects without delay.
Priority has been given to newly formed municipalities and those where nearby villages were recently merged. Except for the Telangana Core Urban City, funds have been released for all other municipalities statewide to accelerate ongoing and new works. Officials have been instructed to ensure transparent and speedy implementation.
The government aims to transform every town into a growth hub under the “Telangana Rising Vision 2027” initiative. This move aligns with CM Revanth Reddy’s plan to improve urban infrastructure across all regions, including Greater Hyderabad.
With this massive allocation, the Congress government hopes to enhance urban living standards, create local employment, and drive balanced development throughout Telangana’s municipalities and corporations.
