Telangana GP Polls 2025: Over 28,000 Nominations Filed for Second Phase
Telangana’s Gram Panchayat (GP) polls 2025 entered its second phase with a total of 28,278 nominations received for 4,332 Sarpanch posts. Election officials noted that nearly 56% of the nominations were filed on the last day, reflecting a surge of interest as the deadline approached.
The Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC) has confirmed that the nomination process concluded smoothly, with candidates from various political parties as well as independents participating. Officials are now set to scrutinise the nominations to ensure compliance with eligibility criteria and election guidelines.
The large number of filings indicates heightened political activity at the grassroots level, with local leaders keen to secure their constituencies ahead of polling.
