Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha has issued strict directives to curb the sale of narcotic and controlled medicines without valid prescriptions. In a detailed review of the Drug Control Authority’s operations, the Minister emphasized the urgent need to prevent pharmacies and individuals from distributing drugs that could mislead or harm the public.
The Minister instructed authorities to enforce compliance rigorously, ensuring that medications are dispensed only with proper doctor prescriptions. He warned that repeated violations of drug regulations by sellers or companies would not be tolerated, and persistent offenders must face permanent closure under the law.
Minister Rajanarsimha also stressed the importance of public awareness and monitoring promotional campaigns that encourage misuse of medicines. Officials were directed to take immediate action against advertisements or practices that misguide citizens.
