Telangana Releases ₹12.99 Crore as Immediate Aid to Families Affected by Cyclone Montha
The Telangana government on Monday released ₹12.99 crore as immediate financial assistance to families affected by Cyclone Montha and the subsequent heavy rains. Officials said the relief amount will be disbursed to households that suffered severe damage to homes, crops, and livelihoods. The government had earlier announced ex-gratia payments to the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to the cyclone’s impact. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed district administrations to ensure speedy distribution of relief funds and to continue assessing the damage across coastal and low-lying regions. Special teams have been deployed for restoration work, including clearing roads and restoring power supply. The State Disaster Management Authority is coordinating with local bodies to provide essential supplies and temporary shelters for displaced families. The government reiterated its commitment to supporting affected communities and rebuilding damaged infrastructure.
