The Telangana government is moving ahead with plans to establish a National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) near Zaheerabad in Sangareddy district. The project aims to drive industrial growth, attract investments, and create opportunities for businesses, local enterprises, and real estate developers.
The NIMZ will cover 12,000 acres, providing infrastructure for industries such as automobiles, electrical equipment, food processing, machinery, and metals. In the first phase, development will take place on 3,245 acres at an estimated cost of ₹2,369 crore. Both central and state governments have given their approval. The NICDIT board cleared the project in July 2024, followed by Union Cabinet approval in August 2024.
Infrastructure development will include roads, electricity, drainage, water supply, internet, and green spaces. The site is strategically located near Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (125 km) and Karnataka’s Bidar airport (30 km). Its proximity to Jawaharlal Nehru Port (600 km), Krishnapatnam Port (465 km), and National Highway 65 enhances logistics for exports and imports.
The project will generate 1.98 lakh direct and indirect jobs. Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) will lead the development work. Officials will finalize first-phase tenders by October. Construction of the layout will begin in the first week of November.
