Temperatures in Bihar are expected to fall by up to three degrees this week, bringing more cold mornings and fog across many districts. According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures in Bihar will stay close to normal, but the drop will make mornings and evenings feel much colder. The state’s usual minimum temperature in December ranges between 10°C and 12°C.
Experts say there is no chance of a cold wave this month. Maximum temperatures will stay above 22°C, which is slightly higher than the normal average for December. However, some northeastern and southeastern parts may record minimum temperatures that are slightly above normal.
Rainfall in November 2025 was notable, as the state received rain after five years. Last month’s rainfall was 169% higher than normal. This sudden change has also contributed to lower night temperatures.
Light to moderate fog may appear in a few places during early mornings. On Tuesday, maximum temperatures ranged from 23.8°C to 27.1°C, and minimum temperatures from 10.4°C to 18.8°C. Purnia recorded the lowest visibility at 500 meters.
In Patna, the sky will remain clear. The city recorded a drop of 0.6°C in maximum temperature and 2°C in minimum temperature, bringing cool but sunny weather for residents.
