Tesla has teased a big announcement for October 7. The company shared a short video on X showing glowing headlights in the dark. Another clip ended with the date “10/7,” confirming the event.
Many expect Tesla to talk about its cheaper version of the Model Y. In June, the company said it had already built the first units. Sales will begin in the fourth quarter. Tesla plans to slowly increase production. By 2026, output in the U.S. could reach 250,000 units a year.
This new Model Y is designed to cost about 20% less to build than the refreshed version. Lower production costs may help Tesla keep prices attractive as competition grows.
Tesla also reported record deliveries from July to September. Buyers rushed to purchase EVs before the U.S. tax credit expired on September 30. That $7,500 incentive is now gone. Without it, Tesla may need to rethink its pricing to keep sales strong.
For now, fans and investors are waiting for October 7. The event could give a clear look at Tesla’s next steps and its plan to hold market momentum.
