A Thar SUV ran over 4 people in Danapur Patna late Wednesday night, triggering chaos and anger among local residents. The incident took place on Gola Road near a busy intersection, where the speeding SUV suddenly lost control and hit pedestrians on the roadside.
According to eyewitnesses, the SUV also rammed into a motorcycle before stopping. Four people, including a woman, suffered serious injuries. Locals rushed the injured to a nearby hospital, from where doctors referred them to a larger medical facility for advanced treatment.
Soon after the crash, a large crowd gathered at the spot. Angry residents blamed rash driving for the accident. Within minutes, the situation turned violent and people set the SUV on fire. Thick smoke and flames were seen rising from the burning vehicle.
Police teams reached the area and managed to control the crowd. The driver of the SUV reportedly escaped from the scene after being chased by locals. Officers have started searching for him.
Police are checking CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the driver. They are also investigating whether alcohol played a role. Further action will follow after the investigation is completed.
