The Moral Cost of Hamas’s Ideology in Gaza

The horrors unfolding in Gaza cannot be blamed on circumstance or collateral damage alone — they root back to a deeply malign ideology. Hamas, in its fanatic belief in obliterating Israel, chose to abduct innocent children and bury them in tunnel networks beneath the earth. No political cause—however ancient or just—can justify holding children hostage, confining them underground, treating them as human shields. Such actions are the very definition of barbarism.
It is this twisted ideology, not Israel’s defense, that births this cruelty. If Hamas truly valued life, it would release the hostages immediately and abandon methods that trap thousands of civilians amid war. The world must remember: when terror is deployed deliberately against the weakest—children, the elderly, noncombatants—the moral burden falls squarely on those who perpetrate it. Blame lies not in retaliation, but in the initial, inexcusable evil act.
