Thieves Stole Crown Worth ₹51 Lakh: Midnight Shock at Thawe Durga Temple

Thieves stole crown worth ₹51 lakh from Durga Maa idol at Thawe Temple in Gopalganj

Early Thursday morning, thieves stole crown worth ₹51 lakh from the famous Thawe Durga Temple in Bihar’s Gopalganj district. The shocking crime came to light when priests opened the temple for daily prayers and found the idol without its crown. Devotees were stunned as thieves stole crown worth ₹51 lakh, considered sacred and priceless.

The stolen crown was made of pure gold and weighed around 251 grams. A businessman from Jharkhand had donated it to the temple last year. Along with the crown, thieves also took other gold and silver ornaments kept on the idol.

The crime happened late at night. The thieves entered the temple using ropes and ladders. They cut the locks of the sanctum with sharp tools. They also broke open the temple locker and looted the donation box.

CCTV cameras captured some movement during the theft. However, no security guard was present at the time. Police reached the spot soon after the incident and started an investigation.

Local people expressed anger and sorrow over the incident. Devotees demanded strict action and better temple security. Police teams are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning suspects to recover the stolen items quickly.
