Thieves terrorizing Supaul struck again as a gang carried out a daring robbery in a residential area late Sunday night. The incident took place in the Balwa Punarvaas locality, creating fear among local residents. Thieves terrorizing Supaul targeted a house when most family members were away.
According to the family, the criminals broke the main lock and entered the house quietly. Inside, they locked a woman and her young grandson in one room from outside. This move stopped them from raising an alarm.
The thieves then searched the house freely. They broke open a locker and stole around ₹7 lakh in cash. They also took gold and silver jewellery worth nearly ₹23 lakh. After collecting the valuables, the gang fled the scene.
In the early morning, the woman woke up and realized the door was locked. She alerted neighbours after help arrived. The family then informed the police.
Police officers reached the spot soon after. They started an investigation and questioned nearby residents. The incident has increased concern about night-time security in the area.
