The Shri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar has received a bomb threat for the third consecutive day, prompting authorities to take strict security measures. Both the police and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) have implemented comprehensive arrangements to ensure safety.
Once again, an email threatening to bomb the shrine was sent to SGPC administrators. This repeated threat has led to heightened security in and around the holy site, with paramilitary forces deployed and strict monitoring of all routes leading to and from the Harmandir Sahib. The belongings of suspicious individuals are being closely inspected.
According to reports, the SGPC received another email on Wednesday claiming that RDX explosives had been placed in surrounding pipes and would be used to carry out blasts.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh confirmed that security forces have been deployed and that the cyber cell is investigating the email. He assured that the culprits behind these threats will be caught soon.
